It is daily becoming more obvious that the biggest threat to a free press and the circulation of ideas is the steady absorption of newspapers, television and radio stations, networks and other vehicles of information into corporations that know how to turn knowledge into profit—but are not equally committed to inquiry or debate or to the First Amendment.

Frank’s comment was made back in 1995, when NBC still had strands left of true objective journalism. The network is now in the vanguard of unethical, overly slanted, opinion-based journalism. Following the networks unmatched support for Obama’s election campaign, NBC’s parent holder company General Electric has coincidentally received millions in Stimulus money and Cap-and-Trade contracts.
At NBC’s company gift shops and online venues, you will find dozens of Obama dolls and paraphernalia sold. It can be safely asserted that President Obama is a star of NBC, and the company will do anything (including defending underage prostitution) to keep him shining.
